Frequently Asked Questions
How many plies does Kleenex® Cottonelle® Toilet Tissue have?
Kleenex® Cottonelle® Toilet Tissue is one ply. The combination of its unique air-weave texture and soft pulp creates a thick sheet which delivers performance that would historically have only been possible from a multi-ply product. The new patented manufacturing process is the result of 20 years of research and development and weaves together softness, strength and thickness, whilst eliminating the problem of ply separation.
How many sheets are there per roll?
Our regular range has 190 sheets per roll. Double Length has 380 sheets (exactly double the amount on a regular roll).
What are the dimensions of each sheet?
11cm x 10cm
How can I tell the difference between the ‘Scented’ and ‘Unscented’ range?
Most of the Kleenex® Cottonelle® range is lightly scented on the core. “Unscented” can be identified with the words “Hypo-Allergenic Unscented” printed on the front of pack and the purple colour cues. Please note: Our Unscented range is only available in 6 and 8 roll pack. 4 pack available in NZ only.
Where is the fragrance applied on the roll?
The core is lightly fragranced while being manufactured, prior to having the bathroom tissue wound onto it. The paper itself is not directly scented.
Why isn’t ‘Hypo-Allergenic Unscented’ available in larger packs?
Unfortunately, demand for this range is not currently strong enough to warrant extension into larger pack sizes.
What is ‘Double Length’?
Double Length rolls have twice as many sheets as regular Kleenex® Cottonelle® Toilet Tissue rolls. This means that each roll lasts a lot longer before running out.
What is Kleenex® Cottonelle® Toilet Tissue made from?
The fibre in our tissue is made from wood pulp. The fibres are bleached for greater strength, absorbency, whiteness and purity.
Is Kleenex® Cottonelle® Toilet Tissue made from recycled material?
No. However Kimberly-Clark Australia uses recycled materials wherever they are the most appropriate choice. Tissue from wood pulp and tissue from re-cycled material both have environmental impacts and a recent major study has concluded that the overall environmental impact of tissue from each source is similar. For more information please see the Life Cycle Assessment of Tissue Products on our corporate site.
What are the fibres made from? And where do they come from?
The fibre in our tissue is made from wood pulp. The majority of the fibre we use is pine which the pulp mill extracts from the thinnings (otherwise wastes) from local pine plantations. Kimberly-Clark is the only tissue manufacturer in Australia to have been awarded PEFC accreditation. PEFC certification means that KCA’s tissue products must meet their thorough and stringent requirements for sustainable forest management of wood supplies. Is Kleenex® Cottonelle® Toilet Tissue biodegradable?

Is Kleenex® Cottonelle® packaging made from recyclable material?

Is Kleenex® Cottonelle® Toilet Tissue safe to use in any toilet system (including septic tanks, caravan toilets)?
